Matt LIED about football games.

On August 28, 2025, Matt posted this online:

Look at that paragraph beginning "to do so requires a board majority."

He's implying that the Board made the decision to move to 6:00pm start times for football games.

He's further implying that it was Kacy Deschene, Jeff Simon, and Michelle Langenfeld who made the decision.

THIS IS A LIE.

As the Superintendent reported at the August 25, 2025 meeting, the decision to move football start times to 6:00pm was made by many schools in a large region.  Their reasons included safety, less stress on law enforcement, and the fact that schools that had already done this saw an increase in attendance.

At the August 25 meeting, it was JEFF SIMON - not Matt - who brought this up and asked for a further review to be done.  Matt simply agreed with Jeff.

But he's taking credit, and he's blaming people who had nothing to do with it.

Shouldn't a School Board member be honest with the public?

When Matt was preparing to be sworn into office in 2022,

he posted a list of PRINCIPLES that he said would guide his service on the board, and he's said a lot more in various social media posts and in Board meetings.

What do all of these "principles" have in common?

Matt's principles show that he is forcing his own divisive ideology into the District.

In this page, we've put together a collection of these divisive ideologies, starting with:

Ending the Separation of CHURCH and STATE

On January 15, 2023, Matt spoke to his church at the end of a livestreamed worship service.

In his remarks, he revealed his religious ideology, one that he was working to bring to the School District.

On November 3, 2023, Matt reiterated this religious belief in his "Let Them Be" group:

In the United States of America, we have a Constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of religion.

Shouldn't a member of the School Board strive to keep their religious views out of our classrooms?

Many of Matt's demands come from his religious worldview, and forcing them on our students is religious indoctrination.

He's also quick to name as "indoctrination" anything that conflicts with that worldview:

Don't we deserve School Board members who will at least try to work in a nonpartisan fashion?

Shouldn't we reject a School Board candidate who openly touts their party affiliation and ideology?

Again, Matt has often spoken about the importance of the District's BUDGET,

saying that he feels a responsibility to fund our schools:

Is Matt helping to fund our schools when he has voted against the budget in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025?

Here's Matt's post from January 7, 2022 about his guiding principles:

Are these the principles of someone truly supporting ALL of our students, families, and staff in Anoka-Hennepin?
