Matt's Budget Manifesto

On April 12, 2024, Matt Audette posted a manifesto on the "AH District 11 Let Them Be..." Facebook page (shown below).

In this manifesto, Matt wrote that he, Zach Arco (Sub-District 2), and Linda Hoekman (Sub-District 1) could not "in good conscience" vote in favor of a 2024-2025 budget that involved a laundry list of programs and policies they found offensive.

Their threat to stonewall the budget threatened the District's ability to keep staff, secure necessary vendors, pay bills, and more even before the vote was taken.  (The budget passed on a 4-2 vote with Matt voting in opposition.)

Specific Demands

In each of the following graphics, one of Matt's demands is presented.

Google AI has been used to provide a basic definition of each program/idea that Matt opposes.

Do you think these ideas sound scary?

Or do they sound like things that should be part of a complete education that prepares our students to be contributing members of a civil society?

Here's the entire manifesto.

Do you see other unreasonable demands?
